For this assignment, we had to make 17 artist trading cards. This is an international project that is done in many schools around the globe. Each student makes a certain amount of cards and then, once everyone is done, we trade all but two away to our classmates. Once we go to college, we can trade with other students and so on. It was so much fun and now I have a whole new set of cards.
For this assignment, I would give myself a 5 because there are many 2-D design principles used such as line, shape, color, value, shading, and contrast. My cards are original ideas and not made with superficial decision making. The cards are not themed, but still express a variety of expressive qualities. Some of my best cards, above, are engaging as well as technically strong. The cards could have been a little more clean when I was painting so they wouldn't have been so choppy looking. The cards could have been a little more uniform instead of just painting whatever came to the mind. Overall, the top cards are good.
